More than 100 people, representatives of 22 ECLLD members in 20 countries , farmers, scientists, practitioners, policy makers and citizens of Luxemburg followed the 14th edition of the LLD Forum which organized in Dierkirch (Luxemburg) by SEED, Lycée Technicque Agricole (LTA) Luxembourg and Let’s Liberate Diversity! from 4 th to 6 th fo September 2025. Organizers invited participants to come together, exchange and learn about cultivated diversity and dynamic seed management! The day before (3th) General Assembly of ECLLD took place welcoming new members (Agrolink- Bulgaria) and dedicated time for internal organization issues and missions. A serious of 18 workshops in 6 sessions took place the next 2 days with more than 50 speakers being involved dealing with a number of interesting issues (food and seed policy, biodiversity conservation and development, participatory organic or evolutionary breeding, seed health, NGTS and patents, community initiatives and networking). The 3rd day a conference took place on “Patents versus Biodiversity' while the final day participants visited a nearby diversity vegetable farm. During Forum Diversity market participants were invited in to tasting experience (Pasta, beans and Beer from local varieties, finger food) and to music concerts.
From the Balkan Seed Network Association perspective we felt lucky to join the great European Agrobiodiversity family activities of ECLLD and share the same grassroot movement values with seed community NGOs across Europe (and globally) . It is urgent to join forces as current seed policy revision and climate change challenge seed and food sovereignty and farmers’ rights globally. Next LLD Forum : Italy, May 2026. We will be there for sure!!!
